Spot monitoring your media campaign

For an advertiser and their advertising agency, the cost of media in their marketing mix can represent the majority of the budget.

With this in mind, Nielsen Media AIS (Advertising Information Service) can supply an audit of appearance, a Spot Report, within a week of activity being broadcast or published in the metropolitan markets.

Nielsen Media AIS visually verifies every commercial placed on commercial television. For TVOne, TV2 and TV3 we verify national and regional advertising, for Prime we verify national and Auckland advertising, and for C4, Sky Movies 1, Sky Movies 2, Sky Sport 1, Sky Sport 2 and Sky 1 we capture national advertising content.

For Television we can supply:

  • details on the key number that ran
  • duration of the commercial
  • station
  • week commencing date and actual day
  • actual time(to the minute)that the commercial went to air
  • programme name
  • commercial break and the position that the advertisement appeared in the break
  • flagging if a competitor has had their commercial placed adjacent.

Newspapers and magazines are verified for activity and placement of display advertising for national and major regional campaigns.

For print we can supply:

  • issue date or cover date of publication
  • page and section of the paper or page of the magazine in which the advertisement appeared
  • description/caption contained in the advertisement

The itemised spot monitoring report is used to cross check against booking records. Advertising activity outside of agreed scheduled environments can be highlighted by the client and compensation sort. Advertisers can confirm that the activity they have planned has transpired according to their plan.
